Bluffton blasts Temple Baptist 97-67

The Bluffton College men's basketball team is off to a 2-2 start thanks to a 97-67 spanking of Temple Baptist College on November 25 in Founders Hall. BC fell at Adrian College (Mich.) on November 22 71-57. 

The Beavers will return to Founders Hall on Saturday, December 2 for a 3:00 showdown with Bethany College (W.Va.).



Temple Baptist

Fourteen players saw action for the Beavers and five hit for double figures as Bluffton won their 2000-01 home opener.

Bluffton led by as many as 25 points in the first half but saw Temple Baptist claw to within nine points with 17:52 left in the game. BC quickly turned things around, however, and built a 33 point lead with 4:30 to play before settling for their 30 point victory.

Bluffton canned 56% of their field goals in the game and took a 42-30 rebounding edge over the winless Temple Baptist squad.

Jeremy Roberts led all scorers with 21 points as he was a perfect 8-8 from the floor. Chad Cramer added 15 points and collected a team-high nine rebounds. Scott Remaklus also hit for 15 as he nailed four of six 3-point attempts and dished out five assists. Chris Beyer scored 13 points while Rod Overmyer chipped in 10.



Adrian

BC saw their record slip to 1-2 on the season with a 71-57 loss at Adrian College (Mich.) Wednesday night. Roberts led all scorers with 32 points, the second-best point total of his career. He played 38 minutes in the game and hit 12 of 17 shots and collected eight rebounds and four assists.

Adrian held statistical advantages over the Beavers in field goal shooting (47% to 40%) and rebounding (40-27).

The host Bulldog squad raced out to a 39-26 halftime lead but outscored Bluffton by just one point in the second half.

Remaklus was the only other BC player in double figures with 10 points. Kevin Grey collected a team-high four steals.
