Bluffton falls at MSJ in HCAC lid-lifter

Bluffton College had their seven-game win streak snapped Wednesday night in their first Heartland Conference game of the season, an 84-66 loss at Mount St. Joseph. BC falls to 8-3 overall and 0-1 in the HCAC.

Bluffton led at different times throughout the first half before the Mount took a 32-30 halftime lead. MSJ then scored the first six points of the second half and went on an 11-2 run around the 14 minute mark to go up by 11 points. Their lead gradually grew to 20 points over the remainder of the game.

Travis Elsass led Bluffton with 17 points, while Rod Overmyer netted 15 points. Chad Cramer chipped in 11 points and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.

Bluffton was held to a .328 shooting clip in the game, while the host Lion squad shot .542 from the floor. BC was out-rebounded 46-31 but hit 15 of 17 free throw attempts, including a 6-6 performance at the line from Scott Remaklus and a 4-4 effort from Chris Sheldon.
