Overmyer and Leimeister named First Team All-HCAC

Bluffton College's high scoring duo of senior ROD OVERMYER (Payne, Ohio/Wayne Trace H.S.) and junior MICHAEL LEIMEISTER (Collins, Ohio/Edison H.S.) have both been named first team All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference following voting conducted by the HCAC head men's basketball coaches over the weekend. Overmyer, who led the HCAC in scoring with 19.4 points per game, earned his second straight All-HCAC honor, while Leimeister, who ranked 2nd in the HCAC in scoring with 17.3 points per game, picked up his first All-HCAC award.

Overmyer (504 points) and Leimeister (450 points) combined for 954 points this season, which ranks them 8th in BC history in two-man scoring combinations in a single season. They combined for 67 points against Defiance College on Feb. 19, tying the BC single-game record. Both players notched career-high point totals in that game as Leimeister scored 36 points and Overmyer added 31 points.

Overmyer also led the league in 3-point field goals made with 71, ranked 13th in rebounding (4.9 rpg) and 8th in free throw percentage (.815). He scored in double-figures in the final 22 games of the season and ended his career at BC ranked 2nd all-time in 3-pointers made (182) and free throw percentage (.827).

Leimeister ranked 5th in the league in rebounding (6.7 rpg), 3rd in field goal percentage (.579) and 9th in free throw percentage (.807). He scored 30 or more points in five of the last 10 games of the season.
