Senior guard SCOTT BERGMAN was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the third time this season on Monday, February 13, 2006. He led the Beavers with 59 points (29.5 ppg), 17 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals and a block as Bluffton went 1-1 and snapped a four-game losing skid this week.
He recorded a double-double during the 65-63 loss at the Mount on Wednesday as he scored 28 points, hauled in 10 boards, dished out 5 assists and created 3 steals against the Lions. He also nailed five triples in the game on Wednesday night.
Although Bergman was held scoreless during the first 12 minutes of the Beavers' 83-73 Senior Day victory Anderson, he exploded for 31 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists in his final regular season home contest. Scott connected on all 13 of his attempts at the charity stripe on Saturday.
Bergman currently leads the HCAC with 22.7 ppg and 3.96 apg while dropping in 25.3 ppg in conference contests. He stands as the fourth most prolific scorer in Bluffton history with 1,575 career points and he needs only 93 points to move into second place all-time.
