Bluffton 'B' Team just misses school record with 313 on Sunday

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University Men's Golf 'B' team was the team to be on Sunday as it just missed the school record with a round of 313 at Hidden Creek on September 20. The 313 was just five strokes from the school mark that was set in 1981 and equaled in 2004! The 'A' team also improved on its Saturday score with a 320 in the final round. The 313 came in between the two Tiffin squads that scored 310 and 315 on Sunday.

Sophomore Clay Quellhorst (St. Marys/Memorial) fired a 73 for his best collegiate round of golf and his 155 for the tournament tied him for 3rd at the Beaver Classic. Junior Nick Offenburger (Lexington) led the 'A' team with a 78 at Hidden Creek on Sunday. Nathan Eberle (Grove City), Spencer Daniels (Ashland) and Carter Mumbower (Newport, MI/Airport) all broke 80 with identical Sunday scores of 79. Eberle finished 8th with a 158 as he shot a pair of 79's.

Senior Takoda Pratt (Mansfield/Shelby) chipped in with an 81, while Dominic Castelvetere (Ontario) and Dharmarak Dawrat (Nonthaburi, Thailand) carded 82's on Sunday. All three finished the tournament with 36-hole scores of 165 and they were joined by Mumbower who also added a 165 for the weekend. A clean-shaven Julian LaVallee (Jefferson/Jefferson Area) posted his best round as a collegiate golfer when the senior shot an 86 on Sunday!

Bluffton returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 26, when the Beavers travel to Lansing, Mich., for the Olivet College Invitational.
