Beavers wrap up Ryman Memorial with 337

TIFFIN, Ohio - The Bluffton University men's golf team battled a bevy of top-flight NCAA Division II schools at the Kyle Ryman Memorial on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020. It marked day two of the 54-hole tournament that need the morning to finish up the second 18 holes from Monday thanks to a two-hour fog delay yesterday.

The Beavers finished their second Monday round with a 337 on Tuesday morning before carding another 337 on the final 18. Consistency was the name of the game for Bluffton as all 15 rounds were scored between 80 and 89. The 54-records fell as Bluffton shattered the school record with a 1,006 on Monday and Tuesday, dropping 36 strokes off the previous mark of 1,042 set at the 2019 HCAC Championships. Quellhorst (250) and Daniels (251) both went lower than Carter Mumbower's (Newport, MI/Airport) school mark of 253 for 54 holes!

Junior Nick Offenburger (Lexington) carded an 82 for the best round from the middle 18 holes. An 83 by Nathan Eberle (Grove City) was the prime score from Bluffton on the final 18. Offenburger and Spencer Daniels (Ashland) were both a stroke back at 84, while Clay Quellhorst (St. Marys/Memorial) finished with an 86 for a team-low 250 at the two-day tournament. Daniels was one stoke of the pace with a 251. Eberle and Offenburger both finished the tourney at 254. Senior Takoda Pratt (Mansfield/Shelby) rounded out the Bluffton five with a 261.

Following a heavy blitz of 72 holes over the past four days, Bluffton will gear up for its final outing of the fall on Monday, Oct. 12, when the Beavers head to Sylvania for the Lourdes Fall Invitational.
