Eberle sets records at Earlham Invitational

RICHMOND, Ind. - The Bluffton University men's golf team took advantage of the warm weather in its final tuneup for the 2022 Heartland Conference Championships on Sunday, April 24. Bluffton finished with a 310 after a 314 on Saturday as the Beavers took 6th place at the Earlham Spring Invitational. The 624 marked the 3rd best total in Bluffton history for 36 holes.

Junior Nathan Eberle (Grove City) was spectacular on Sunday, shooting a 70 for the best 18-hole score since golf returned to campus five years ago. Even better, his 36-hole score of 149 is the best two-day total in school history! It also added up to a 3rd place finish for Eberle!

Freshman Hunter Jolliff (Elida) went 74-80 for a 154 and 16th place showing. Senior Spencer Daniels (Ashland) finished with a 160 after shooting 79 on Saturday and 81 on Sunday. Clay Quellhorst (St. Marys/Memorial) and Brayden Tosi (Springfield/Kenton Ridge) both shot 80 on Sunday for 162 and 163, respectively.

Nick Offenburger (Lexington) and Evan Kujawa (Toledo/Whitmer) showed the depth of Coach Craig's program, carding weekend scores of 161 and 163, respectively, as individuals.

Bluffton will tie a bow on its 2021-22 campaign when it travels to the Miami Whitewater Golf Club for the Heartland Conference Championships. The opening round of the three-day extravaganza is slated for Friday, April 29.
