Bluffton opens Beaver Fall Classic with a 329

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University men's golf team shot a 329 at the Beaver Fall Classic on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024.

Although he was playing on the 'B' squad Saturday, freshman Aaron Gerber (Vermilion) led the way with a 76. Leading the 'A' team was sophomore Carson Brubaker (Shelby) who carded a 77 in round one.

Jack Wyant (Mansfield/Lexington) fired an 80 on the day that his mother, Janelle, was celebrated for her Hall of Fame entry at the President's Dinner following the Homecoming footbal game! Fellow freshman Drake Sommer (Montpelier) was one shot back with an 81 on Saturday.

Junior Noah Macke (Columbus Grove) tallied an 85, while Matthew Owen (Lima/Shawnee) and Jackson Eichler (Atwater/Waterloo) both finished day one with scores of 87 for the first 18 holes.

Gavin Ferguson (Burbank/Norwayne) and Sergio Muniz (Milwaukee, Wis./Nathan Hales) wrapped up the scoring for their squads with rounds of 89 and 97, respectively.

The Beavers will be back at the Bluffton Golf Club on Sunday, Oct. 6, for the final round of the Beaver Fall Classic.
