Beavers kick off spring slate with a 321

TIFFIN, Ohio - With Hidden Creek and Colonial knocked out of commission following storms this week, the Bluffton University men's golf team pivoted to a four-school event that Heidelberg University put together on the fly. The 'That's Spring Golf in Northwest Ohio Invitational' featured teams from Bluffton, Ohio Northern, Tiffin and host Heidelberg on Friday, April 4, 2025. Bluffton's 'A' squad placed 4th and the 'B squad took 7th, but only 25 strokes separated the field.

Aaron Gerber (Vermilion) topped the Beavers with a 6-over 78 which placed the freshman 4th on Friday. Noah Macke (Columbus Grove) and Drake Sommer (Montpelier) were just off his pace with a pair of 80's which tied them for 13th.

Veterans Carson Brubaker (Shelby) and Brayden Tosi (Springfield/Kenton Ridge) followed with identical rounds of 81 at Mohawk. Freshmen Jack Wyant (Mansfield/Lexington) and Gavin Ferguson (Burbank/Norwayne) finished off the 'A' squad scoring with rounds of 82 and 88, respectively.

Jackson Eichler (Atwater/Waterloo), Sergio Muniz (Milwaukee, Wis./Nathan Hales) and Matthew Owen (Lima/Shawnee) went 86, 88 and 94 as they were back on the course for their first competition since October.

The men wil be at Indiana University Kokomo Shootout next Saturday, April 12, and Sunday, April 13.
