BC tops Cincinnati Bible 4-3 in overtime

  Junior John Lindow had an assist and two goals, including the game-winner in overtime, to lead Bluffton to a 4-3 overtime win over Cincinnati Bible College on Thursday.

 

Bluffton College junior John Lindow (Columbia Station/Padua Franciscan) scored two goals, the second of which found the net with 8:43 remaining in overtime, to lift the Beavers to a 4-3 win over non-conference foe Cincinnati Bible College Thursday afternoon at the Emery Sears Athletic Complex.

 

Bluffton overcame a quick 2-0 deficit to snap a seven-game winless streak and improves their record to 2-7 on the season.

 

Lindow scored his first goal with 9:42 left in the second half to give Bluffton a 3-2 lead, and he booted an unassisted goal with 8:43 left in overtime for the victory.

 

After two quick goals by CBC, Bluffton sophomore Mike Moore (Naperville, Ill./Charlotte) connected for a goal off an assist from junior Ryan Zeman (Bellbrook) with 3:01 left before halftime. With 42:46 left in the second half sophomore Caspar Agyeman-Duah (Fairfield) tied the score at 2-2 with a goal off an assist from Lindow. 

 

Lindow then scored his first goal off an assist from junior Diego Rodriguez (Kalona, Iowa/Iowa Mennonite), but CBC would come back to tie the score to force overtime.

 

Bluffton took an impressive 36 shots on goal in the game, compared to just 18 for the visitors. Junior goalkeeper Derek Stemen (Rockford/Van Wert) collected seven saves.
