Beavers drop two at Manchester on opening weekend

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University soccer team (0-2) kicked off their season at the Manchester College tournament as they played Adrian College in game one and Moody Bible College in game two.  The Beavers came up one point short as they lost 3-2 in both games to start their 2005 season.  

In game one sophomore Tyler Chapman (Shreve/Triway) scored the first goal of the game with an assist from junior Justin Rohrer (Millersburg/West Holmes) in the seventh minute of the contest. The two paired up once again in the sixty-fifth minute with Chapman scoring and Rohrer posting the assist. Junior goalkeeper Ryan Thomas (Jamestown/Greenview) had four saves for the Beavers.

In game two Chapman kicked in the first goal for the Beavers (third of the tournament) with the help of freshman Nate Flath (Wadsworth/Wadsworth) with the assist. Rohrer scored the second goal of the game for Bluffton with the assist from freshman Phil Keeler (Bluffton/Bluffton).

The Beavers will be back in action when they host Huntington College on Tuesday, Sept. 6. Kickoff is slated for 4 p.m.
