Beavers defeat Huntington 1-0 in overtime thriller in home opener

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University men's soccer team (1-2) defeated Huntington University 1-0 in overtime in their 2005 home opener.  The win brings the Beavers to 1-2 on the season and marks Bluffton's first win of 2005. 

The Beavers and Foresters battled to a 0-0 tie as time ran out in regulation play.  Freshman DREW HOENING (Beavercreek/Christian Academy) scored the game winning goal off an assist by JUSTIN ROHRER (Millersburg/West Holmes) at the 92:36 mark. Junior goalkeeper RYAN THOMAS (Jamestown/Greenview) tallied four saves in the contest.  Bluffton totaled 12 shots for the game, compared to Huntington's six. 

The Beavers will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 10 when they host Bethel College.  Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
