Beavers win second straight as they defeat MSJ 3-2

BLUFFTON, Ohio -The Bluffton University men's soccer team (5-7, 1-1) defeated the Lions from Mount St. Joseph (0-10-1, 0-1) by a score of 3-2 on Saturday, October 8, 2005. 

Midway through the first half freshman NATE FLATH (Wooster/Wooster) opened the scoring for Bluffton when he headed a TYLER CHAPMAN (Shreve/Triway) cross into the goal. Senior DAVID LANKA (Plain City/Jonathon Alder) put a penalty kick rebound across the goal line a minute later as Bluffton opened up a 2-0 advantage. Freshman DREW HOENING(Beavercreek/Christian Academy) tacked on a goal with 19 minutes to play that turned out to be a crucial score. His goal on a cross from Chapman proved to be the difference when the Lions scored twice during the final 15 minutes.

The Beavers will be back in action on Thursday, October 13 when they travel to Urbana to face the Blue Knights. The match is slated to begin at 4 p.m.
