Bluffton falls at Transylvania, 8-0

September 15, 2007

LEXINGTON, Ky. - For the second consecutive match, the Bluffton University men's soccer team found itself on the wrong end of an eight-goal deficit when the dust cleared after 90 minutes of action. Defending HCAC champion Transylvania dominated the Beavers for the entire contest in an 8-0 shutout of the Beavers.

Transylvania was impressive from start to finish as the Pioneers fired 29 shots, including 16 on target, in the victory. Bluffton allowed 14 corner kicks while only forcing two on the other end of the field.

The first half saw Transy steamroll its way to a 5-0 advantage and the Pioneers slowed only slightly in the second frame, tacking on three goals after the intermission for an 8-0 victory over the Beavers.

Bluffton returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 18, when it travels to Taylor-Ft. Wayne. The match is slated to kick off at 4 p.m.
