Bluffton falls to MSJ in season finale, 2-0

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 Heartland Conference decision to the Mt. St. Joseph Lions on Saturday afternoon, October 27, 2007. The Beavers fell to 4-12-1 on the season with a 2-6 mark in the HCAC. The Mount improved to 4-14 on the year with a 3-5 conference record.

The Lions scored what turned out to be the game-winner at the 29 minute mark of the first half on a shot by ERICK JACOB. Just seven minutes later, fellow Lion BRIAN AYERS found the back of the net to put the Lions up 2-0.   

The Beavers took 13 shots, including seven on goal, compared to the Lions' nine total shots with four being on target. BRANDON OLTERMAN (Camden/Preble Shawnee) and DERRICK SCOVANNER (Loveland/Cincinnati Hills) led the Beavers with two shots apiece, with both of Scovanner's shots being on frame.  

The Beavers wrapped up their 2007 campaign with a 4-12-1 record overall and a 2-6 mark in Heartland Conference.
