September 12, 2009

HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The Bluffton University men's soccer team failed to mount any offense as Huntington limited the visitors to five shots in a 3-0 shutout of the Beavers. The Foresters improved to 5-1 on the season while Bluffton slipped to 0-3-1.

MARVIN MARTINEZ gave Huntington the only score it would need when he found the back of the net at the 34:54 mark. GEORGE HALIM added a pair of goals less than 10 minutes into the second stanza for the final 3-0 margin over the Beavers. TAYLOR ZEMAN, brother of former Bluffton men's soccer standout Ryan Zeman, picked up the assist on Halim's second goal in minute 54.

Junior keeper BRIAN GOOD (Elida) turned away eight shots, while the Beavers only placed three shots on frame. HU tallied 17 shots, compared to just five for Bluffton. The home team was whistled for 15 infractions, six more than the Beavers.

The Beavers return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009, when they travel to face Heidelberg University. The contest is slated to start at 7 p.m.
