Rochester scores late goal for 1-0 win over Beavers

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University men's soccer team lost its stride in the final 17 minutes of play as the Warriors' lone goal proved to be the victory shot, giving Rochester a 1-0 win on Wednesday, October 7, 2009. The Warriors improved to 7-6 while Bluffton fell to 3-7-1 with the loss.

The Beavers executed thirteen shots total, including three each from STEVE RUCKI(Killbuck/West Holmes) and DANIEL TINCH (Middleton/Madison). NICK EVANS (Elida) provided the only Bluffton shot on frame. Rochester's BRIAN MATLOCK scored the game-winning goal at the 73:32 mark.
 
Bluffton forced five more corner kicks than Rochester (6-1) and the Beavers were whistled for 12 fouls, compared to only 10 for the Warriors. Bluffton's goalie, BRIAN GOOD (Elida), tallied three saves.

The Bluffton men return to action on Saturday, Oct. 10, when they battle HCAC rival Hanover College at Sears Field. The match is scheduled to start at 4 p.m following the women's contest.
