BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University men's soccer team defeated Grace Bible College Saturday, September 4, 2010. It was the first contest of the season for the Beavers (1-0), while the Tigers fell to 0-3.

The Beavers started off strong with senior Brain Good (Elida) knocking in the first Bluffton goal less than four minutes into the contest. Good was assisted by fellow senior Andrew Johnson (Vienna, WV/Parkersburg). It was Good's first career start outside of the goal and he proved to be a force up front. Eight minutes later, junior Seth Hertenstein (St. Marys/Memorial) added to the Beaver scoreboard with an unassisted goal that he blasted from outside the box.

Late in the second half, Bluffton freshman Zach Sturm (Grove City) scored the final Bluffton goal of the match. Sturm was assisted by freshman Dylan Matthews (Arlington).

Jacob Graham (Gomer/Elida) led the Beavers with four shots. Bluffton tallied 19 shots while Grace Bible only put four shots together.

The Beavers forced eight corner kicks and limited Grace Bible to just three. Both teams were whistled for nine infractions.

The Bluffton men continue their 2010 season in Pennsylvania on September 10 and 11. On the 10th they play Eastern Mennonite University and on the 11th they play Goshen College as part of the Menno Soccer Classic.
