Transylvania posts 3-0 win at Bluffton

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University men's soccer team fell to conference rival Transylvania University on Saturday, October 2, 2010. The Pioneers improved to 7-2-1 and 2-0 in the HCAC while the Beavers dropped to 2-7 with a 0-2 mark in the conference.

Transylvania scored twice in the first half with one finding the back of the net just shy of the 21st minute and the second goal for the Pioneers with just over three minutes to play in the opening period. The third and final goal came from NICK SPAULDING, giving Transy the 3-0 conference victory over Bluffton.
 
Bluffton University fired seven shots, while Transylvania pounded 28. The Beavers forced only four corner kicks, while the visitors countered with 14. Senior BRIAN GOOD (Elida) recorded seven saves in the loss. JACOB GRAHAM (Elida) and freshman ZACH STURM (Grove City) led the Beaver offense with three and two shots, respectively.
 
The Bluffton men will host first-year Heartland Conference member Earlham College on Tuesday, October 5. The contest is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
