Anderson posts 2-0 shutout over Bluffton

ANDERSON, Indiana - The Bluffton University men's soccer team was defeated 2-0 by conference rival Anderson University on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010. The Ravens improved to 4-4-5 overall and 2-0-2 in the Heartland Conference. Bluffton fell to 2-9 on the season and 0-4 in HCAC action.

The home team scored their first goal in the 37th minute with a header from BRAD RUSCHE, thanks to the assist from AUSTIN FRIDLEY. The Bluffton defense tightened up for the rest of the half. The Ravens finally broke loose from the Beavers with less than four minutes left in the contest when PATRICK FREEMAN found KINGSLEY KANTANDE, giving Anderson the 2-0 victory over Bluffton.
 
Bluffton University fired six shots (two on target), while Anderson put up 25. The Beavers forced only four corner kicks, compared to five for the Ravens. Senior BRIAN GOOD (Elida) recorded seven saves in the loss. JACOB GRAHAM (Gomer/Elida) and MICHAEL TIMPE (Swanton) led the Beaver offense with two shots each. Anderson racked up three more infractions than the visitors (10-7).
 
The Bluffton men will travel to Rochester College on Wednesday, October 13. The contest is scheduled to kick off at 4 p.m.
