HANOVER, Indiana - The Bluffton University men's soccer team capped off its 2010 campaign with a 1-0 shutout over Hanover College, its second straight shutdown defensively, on Saturday, October 30, 2010. Bluffton ended the season with a 4-13 record overall, including a 2-7 mark in the Heartland Conference. The Panthers fell to 3-14 and 1-8 in the HCAC. The Beavers needed just 21 seconds to put the game-winning goal in the back of the net when freshman Dylan Matthews (Arlington) connected from 12 yards out. Hanover fired 15 of its match-high 22 shots in the first 45 minutes, but junior keeper DAN SAVILLE (Toledo/Central Catholic) held the home team at bay as Bluffton carried a 1-0 lead into the break.

The shots evened out in the second period with Bluffton firing five attempts and Hanover seven. Neither squad was able to light up the scoreboard in the second stanza as the Beavers wrapped up their season with two straight wins, the same way they started 2010.

Hanover tallied 22 shots, to just nine for the Beavers. Hanover took one more corner kick (5-4) than the visitors and the Panthers were whistled for five more fouls (16-11). JACOB GRAHAM(Gomer/Elida) and ZACH STURM (Grove City) both put up two shots to lead the victors.
