Beavers fall 7-0 to Olivet College

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University men's soccer team played its second MIAA opponent in as many days, falling to Olivet College 7-0 on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011. The Beavers dipped to 0-7 on the season while the Comets upped their overall mark to 5-1-1.

The Beavers battled the visiting Comets, but Olivet ended the first half with a 3-0 lead. After the break, the Comets added four more tallies for a final score of 7-0.

Olivet piled up 32 shots, 21 on frame, while limiting Bluffton to just three total attempts. Both teams committed eight fouls, however, the Comets dominated the corner kicks 9-0.  ESTEBAN RUSSELL'S hat trick gave him five goals for the season as Olivet controlled the action from start to finish.

Senior goalkeeper DAN SAVILLE (Toledo/Central Catholic) picked up six saves. In the second half, freshman keeper JORGE BECERRIL (Sturgis, Mich.) racked up eight saves. 

The Beavers jump back into action on Tuesday, Sept. 20, when they host Cincinnati Christian. The contest is slated for 5 p.m.
