LIMA, Ohio - The Bluffton University men's soccer team was able to get a surprise game under the lights on Sunday, Oct. 6, when they made a trip to Lima Stadium to play on the turf after the torrential rainfall made the Sears Complex field unplayable. The turf was not kind to the Beavers, however, who fell to the Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers by a 5-0 count.

The Engineers were powered by a four-goal performance from senior forward DREW BELK who only had one tally coming into the contest. The Engineers' other goal was scored by senior WILLIAM SENAT, who also added an assist. The Engineers also received two assists from BEN GREEN. The Beavers struggled to control the ball as they were outshot by a convincing 20-2 margin.

Freshman goalkeeper MATT HARDMAN-ZIMMERMAN (Forest City, PA),despite giving up the five goals, had six very outstanding saves in a losing effort. Rose-Hulman keepers DREW MILLER and ALEC HOUPTcombined for the shutout performance.

The Beavers will hit the road this Wednesday, Oct. 9, as they travel to Cincinnati to take on the Mount St Joseph Lions. They are also on the road next Saturday, Oct. 12, against the Earlham College Quakers. The Beavers will finally return home on Wednesday, Oct. 16, when they welcome the Anderson University Ravens back at the Sears Complex at 4 p.m. Come support your Beavers!
