BLUFFTON, Ohio - Angel Velasco-Urbina (Louisville, KY/Henry Clay) has been named the Heartland Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Beavers to a 1-1-1 mark in three tight contests.

The talented sophomore had an outstanding week in goal, allowing just one score in 270 minutes of action with two shutouts as the Beavers went 1-1-1. The only tally was a goal by 2021 MIAA champion Trine in a 1-0 victory over the Beavers at Bluffton. He finished with eight saves and a 0.33 GAA for the week. Velasco-Urbina has racked up three shutouts in his first six matches this season.

The Bluffton men will take the pitch again on Thursday, Sept. 22, when they welcome Albion College to the Sears Athletic Complex. Kickoff is slated for 4:30 p.m.
