Nathan Herrera named Head Men's Soccer Coach

Bluffton University has named Nathan Herrera as its next head men's soccer coach.

Herrera has most recently served as men's first assistant coach/head development team coach at Marian University.  Herrera helped guide the Marian team to a 2024 NAIA National Tournament second-round appearance, a Crossroads League Tournament Finalist finish and a #21 national ranking. His leadership contributed to 36 NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors, multiple All-Crossroads selections and the program's ongoing success at the national level.

Herrera has also served as head boys elite 64 and NPL coach/U17-U19 age group coordinator at USA of Indiana. In 2023, Herrera was named USA of Indiana Coach of the Year. Herrera's teams have consistently excelled, winning NPL League and Playoff Championships and reaching the National Regional Finals in 2024.

Herrera will start head coaching duties at Bluffton on April 7.

"I am incredibly honored to be named the next head coach of Bluffton Men's Soccer," said Herrera. "I want to thank President Sider, Athletic Director James Grandey and the search committee for their confidence in me to lead this program. I am excited for the opportunity to elevate the team both on and off the field. I look forward to being on campus, meeting the players, connecting with alumni and preparing for the 2025 fall season."

Herrera holds a USSF National Coaching D License and has developed a coaching philosophy centered on work ethic, discipline and attention to detail.

Herrera earned a bachelor's degree in business management from University of Findlay in 2012.
