Bluffton takes on Wittenberg and Anderson

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Bluffton University swimming and diving team traveled to Wittenberg for a meeting with the Tigers and Heartland Conference rival Anderson University on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024.

The women garnered a pair of first place finishes to go along with a school record in another event! Junior Sydney Grisier (Bryan) won the 3-meter dive with a score of 141.25 points, second all-time. She alse established a school record with 173.60 points in the 1-meter dive. She shattered her own school mark by nearly 20 points.

Freshman Jami Baker (Lowell, Ind.) got in on the winning action with a 27.47 in the 50 yard freestyle. She followed that up with a fourth place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:17.30).

Bluffton had three men place in the 50 yard freestyle, led by Justin Hassranah (Cunupia, Trinidad and Tobago/Vishnu Boys Hindu College) who finished third with a 25:13. Hassranah also took fourth in the 100 yard freestyle with a 56.71 on Saturday.

Sophomore Grant Patton (Clinton Twp., Mich./Chippewa Valley) and Hassranah went three and four in the 100 yard backstroke.

Bluffton will be back in the pool when the Beavers travel to Canton for the Mid-Season Meet at Malone starting Thursday, Nov. 21.
