NCAA Division III All-Region honorees

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Sophomore Brandon James (Waynesfield/Waynesfield-Goshen) capped off his 2020 Indoor Track and Field season by being named NCAA Division III All-Region on Monday, March 9. To secure all-region honors, an athlete must be in the top five in the region for his or her event.

James finished fifth in the Great Lakes Region in the heptathlon with a score of 4,292. He put up that score at the All-Ohio meet where he was victorious while establishing a new school record in the process. James had lifetime bests in six out of the seven heptathlon events at the All-Ohio competition.

The sensational sophomore won the triple jump (13.35 meters) at the Heartland Conference championships while also taking second in the long jump (6.49 meters). His lifetime best of 6.57 in the long jump was an improvement of over a foot this winter.

Bluffton will now shift its efforts outdoors as the Beavers compete next Friday, March 20, and Saturday, March 21, in Myrtle Beach, SC, at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invite.
