Bluffton runs at Earlham Invitational

RICHMOND, Indiana - The Bluffton University cross country teams traveled to Earlham College for the Earlham Invitational on Saturday, October 4, 2008.

Junior SARAH BINKLEY (Bluffton/Cory-Rawson) paced the Bluffton University women's team as she finished with a time of 23:01.00 and tied for 41st overall. Freshman RACHEL HUELSMAN (Celina/Coldwater) improved on her time from the Cedarville Invitational, crossing the line at 25:47.00.

Freshman ANDREW CHAFFEE (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) continued to lead the Beavers, as he paced the Bluffton University men's team for the third consecutive week. Chaffee crossed the line at 30:23.00 and placed 36th. Senior JUSTIN DERRINGER (Brookville/Brookville) was once again the next Beaver across the finish in 31:56.00 and he placed 46th. Junior BEN SIEBERT (Celina/Celina) was close behind Derringer, as he took 48th with a time of 32:37.00.COLLIN WAGNER (Pettisville/Pettisville) BRIAN TIMPE (Wauseon/Pike-Delta-York) rounded out the scoring for Bluffton, posting times of 33:40.00 and 33:51.00, respectively. The men's team finished 8th with an individual average time of 32:29.40.

Both Bluffton cross country teams are competing with less than a week's rest this Friday, October 10th, when they travel to Ohio Wesleyan University for the All-Ohio Championships. The meet is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. in Delaware, Ohio.
