Lange named HCAC Player of the Week

BLUFFTON , OHIO - Junior ALLISON LANGE ( Archbold , Ohio /Archbold) has been named player of the week for the Heartland Conference in softball for the week ending March 28, 2004 . 

The centerfielder posted two runs, two RBI's, two stolen bases and a double last Tuesday when the Beavers swept Heidelberg 5-0 and 5-1. Bluffton opened up Heartland Conference action on Saturday when they traveled to Hanover for the doubleheader sweep, 3-2 and 4-1. Lange went 4-for-6 against the Panthers with a triple and two home runs.

"I'm very proud of Allison and pleased with the accolade," head coach Holly Spann said. "She has worked very hard this year on her game and leads the team well on and off the field."

Lange currently leads the Beavers in hitting (.513 average), 15 runs, four doubles, two home runs and nine RBI's. Bluffton is currently on a seven game win streak and posts a record of 12-2 and 2-0 in the HCAC. The Beavers will be back in action on Wednesday at home for a doubleheader against HCAC foe Manchester College. Start time is scheduled for 3 pm .
