BLUFFTON, Ohio - Three Bluffton University softball players have recently been selected as All-Heartland Conference for the 2005 season. Senior ALLISON LANGE (Archbold/Archbold), senior MANDY SNIDER (Wapakoneta/Wapakoneta) and junior SARAH BETTS (Bryan/Bryan) were honored for their play in 2005.

Lange was selected all-conference for the second season in a row. She led the squad this past season with 11 doubles, two home runs, a .539 slugging percentage and a .439 on base percentage. Lange posted a .348 batting average, 31 hits, 15 RBI's, 48 total bases and a .926 fielding percentage.

Snider led the team this past season in six hitting categories to earn her second all-conference honor. Snider led Bluffton with 43 hits, 22 RBI's, two home runs, 56 total bases, 22 runs scored and a .361 batting average. She was 15-of-16 in stolen base attempts and registered a .883 fielding percentage.

Betts was selected as all-conference for the third time of her career. Betts led the Beavers in every pitching category this past season. She ended the year with a 15-9 record on the mound with a 1.26 ERA in 27 appearances. Betts pitched 155.2 innings with 15 complete games and five shutout wins. Betts struck out 160 batters as she gave up 95 hits and 49 runs over the year.

The Beavers ended the season with a 22-13 overall record and a 7-6 mark in the Heartland Conference. The team concluded the 2005 campaign as they finished fourth in the HCAC softball tournament.
