BLUFFTON, Ohio - BROOKE BABCOCK (Findlay) was recently named Pitcher of the Week in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference following her performance in the circle against Anderson and Case Western Reserve.
Babcock went 2-0 in three appearances during the week. She gave up just one run on nine hits in 12 innings of work. The junior went the distance with four strikeouts in a 5-1 win over Anderson. Babcock pitched the first four innings of a 10-0 five-inning victory over Case, allowing one single with six strikeouts.
Opponents hit just .200 against her for the week and she finished the three games with a paltry 0.58 earned run average.
The Beavers (25-9, 8-2 HCAC) host conference foes Transylvania, Mount St. Joseph, and Hanover this week to finish out the 2009 regular-season schedule.
