BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University junior SHELBY WADE (Delaware/Buckeye Valley) has been named the Heartland Conference Hitter of the Week for the week ending April 15, 2012.

Wade led the Beavers to a sweep of rival Defiance and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Hitter of the Week. The junior outfielder finished the week 6-for-8 (.750) with four runs scored, three RBI, two doubles, and four stolen bases. She saw her average go up 74 points to .353 following the two wins over Defiance.

Bluffton (18-12, 6-2 HCAC) will host first place Anderson at home Tuesday afternoon in the annual Strike-Out Cancer doubleheader.
