BLUFFTON, Ohio - Freshman JOSIE MCELROY (Mt. Orab, Ohio/Western Brown) helped the Beavers secure the No. 2 seed in the upcoming HCAC tournament with sweeps of Manchester and Hanover and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Hitter of the Week. 

It marks the second time this season that a Beaver has been named Hitter of the Week following JESS KUZARA (Flat Rock, Mich/Huron). CHLOE SHELL (Covington) and JESSIE MADZIA (Massillon/Tuslaw) have also been recognized as HCAC Pitchers of the Week in 2015.

The freshman designated player finished the week 9-for-14 (.643) at the plate with four home runs, two doubles, nine runs scored, and 11 RBI. McElroy 
slugged a monstrous 1.643 and had an on-base percentage of .667 during the four contests. 

Bluffton (25-14, 12-4 HCAC) will open the HCAC tournament against Manchester University at 10 AM Friday, May 1 on the campus of Anderson University.
