December 2, 2000

The Bluffton College women's basketball team made their 2000-01 home opener a successful Saturday evening with a convincing 74-57 victory over Oberlin College. Bluffton improves to 2-2 on the season and hosts Adrian College in Founders Hall next Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.

The two teams battled back and forth in the first half with Bluffton taking a slim 32-30 lead at halftime. A 13-3 BC run early in the second half, however, put the game out of reach for the Lady Crimson, who shot just 32% from the floor in the game. Bluffton's 17-point margin of victory was their largest lead of the game.

Four Bluffton players hit for double figures, led by senior Kristy Crall with 16 points and five assists. Senior Jen Bear netted 14 points and eight rebounds, while senior Elizabeth Snavely landed her fifth career double-double as she scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and added two assists, one block and one steal. Senior Liz Bock chipped in 10 points while sophomore Kristin Helvey added eight points and five assists.
