Franklin women shut down Bluffton College on home court

Franklin College moved into a tie for second place in the Heartland Conference Wednesday night with a 78-53 win over Bluffton College in Founders Hall. The Grizzly defense held the Beavers to a 27.8% shooting clip from the floor to improve to 10-5 overall and 3-1 in the HCAC, while Bluffton falls to 7-8 overall and 2-3 in the HCAC.

Bluffton led for the first ten minutes of the first half, but a 15-4 Franklin run at that point gave control of the game to Franklin, which took a 32-24 lead at halftime. The visitors then shot 52.9% from the floor in the second half and cruised to their 25 point win.

Bluffton was led by senior Jen Bear (Grover Hill/Lincolnview) with 13 points and nine rebounds, while senior Elizabeth Snavely (Defiance) added 11 points.

BC held Franklin leading scorer Anne Heile to 10 points as Tiffany Pittman led the Grizzlies with 15 points.
