Bluffton takes 60-51 win over Anderson

The Bluffton College women's basketball team improved to 3-3 in the Heartland Conference and 9-8 overall with a 60-51 win over Anderson University Wednesday night in Founders Hall. 

Bluffton held Anderson scoreless for the first four and a half minutes of the game, but the Ravens came back to take a 22-19 lead at halftime. AU then built their lead to nine points at 39-30 with under 10 minutes remaining in the contest before the Beavers went on a 24-4 run to take control of the game and notch their second win in a row.

Senior Kristy Crall (Bucyrus/Wynford) led Bluffton with 14 points and a game-high five steals, while sophomore Kristin Helvey (Toledo/Central Catholic) added 13 points. Both were a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line. Senior Elizabeth Snavely (Defiance) chipped in 10 points.

Bluffton connected on 23 of 26 free throw attempts (88.5%) to overcome a 31.5% shooting night from the floor.

Anderson's Rachel Miller collected her seventh double-double of the season as she led the Ravens with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Anderson falls to 4-11 overall and 1-5 in the HCAC.
