Beavers fall to MSJ 84-54

The Bluffton College women's basketball team was handed an 84-54 loss at Mount St. Joseph Wednesday night to see their record slip to 9-10 overall and 3-5 in the Heartland Conference. 

Bluffton had posted a 66-58 win over the Lions in Founders Hall on January 3, but a shot 28.6% from the floor, committed 25 turnovers and made 18 of 32 free throw attempts in the rematch as the Mount improves to 8-11 overall and 3-5 in the HCAC.

Senior Jen Bear (Grover Hill/Lincolnview) led Bluffton with 12 points and seven rebounds, while senior Kristy Crall (Bucyrus/Wynford) netted 11 points and hit three 3-pointers. Sophomore Kristin Helvey (Toledo/Central Catholic) chipped in 10 points.

Mount St. Joseph guard Kori Strange led five Lions in double figures with 18 points.

Bluffton will travel to Hanover College on Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
