Seniors go out winners as BC tops Manchester 85-57

February 7, 2001

Six Bluffton College women's basketball seniors made their last game in Founders Hall an enjoyable one as the Beavers cruised to an 85-57 win over Heartland Conference rival Manchester College Wednesday night.

Bluffton is now 10-11 overall and 4-6 in the HCAC and still has hopes of hosting a first round HCAC tournament game on February 20. The Beavers will be on the road for their last three regular season games, the first of which will be a non-league game at Thomas More College on Saturday.

Senior Bree Wood (Wauseon) highlighted Senior Night by scoring a new career high 21 points, which marked the game's high scorer. Senior Jen Bear (Grover Hill/Lincolnview) added 14 points and eight rebounds, while senior Elizabeth Snavely (Defiance) collected 13 points and seven boards. Senior Liz Bock (Maumee) chipped in 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

Bluffton shot 48% from the floor and outrebounded Manchester 52-38 to claim their fifth straight win over the Indiana natives. The Spartans fall to 2-19 on the season and 1-9 in the HCAC. Manchester was led by Bridget Sanders with 14 points.
