Manchester knocks off Bluffton 89-65

Bluffton College trailed by just two points at halftime, but Manchester College outscored the Beavers 29-10 in the final 10 minutes of the game to take an 89-65 win over BC in Indiana Wednesday night.

BC junior Melissa James grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds and finished with a team-high 16 points to notch her second career double-double.

The Beavers jumped out to a 9-4 lead after three minutes had gone by in the game, but the Spartans built their lead up to 10 points at 30-20 with 9:18 left before halftime.

Junior Michelle Ray scored nine points during a 13-4 Bluffton run as BC regained the lead at 41-39 with :54 to go before halftime. The Spartans took a 43-41 lead at the intermission and didn't trail the rest of the game.

Ray ended the game with 15 points, while junior Lyndsey Robinson also scored 15 points and added seven rebounds. Sophomore Karen Harris chipped in 13 points and dished out four assists.

Bluffton outrebounded Manchester 42-33 but was forced into 29 turnovers.

Bluffton will return to action on Saturday at The College of Mount St. Joseph at 2:00.
