Robinson scores career-high 20 points in 72-57 loss to Pioneers

Bluffton College junior Lyndsey Robinson scored a career-high 20 points, but Transylvania University came away with a 72-57 win over the Beavers in Lexington, Kentucky on Saturday afternoon.

Robinson was an impressive 9-of-12 from the field and added two free throws for her point total. She added a team-high 10 rebounds to notch her fourth career double-double.

Bluffton shot 55% from the floor in the first half and hit 3-of-5 3-pointers, but Transy took a 39-28 lead at halftime. The Pioneers then held BC to a 33% shooting clip in the second half and went on a 15-3 run midway through the period to put the game away.

BC junior Michelle Ray ended the game with 15 points, 11 of which came in the first half. Junior Melissa James added nine points and sophomore Lindsay Bacon chipped in eight points.

Transylvania (12-9, 7-5 HCAC) was led by Kelly Lewis with 17 points and 15 rebounds.

Bluffton (0-22, 0-13) will travel to Defiance College on Wednesday at 7:00.
