Bluffton falls to Thomas More 81-72

Bluffton College scored a season-high 72 points Saturday afternoon, but a visiting Thomas More College squad took an 81-72 win over the Beavers in Founders Hall.

Junior Melissa James connected on a career-high four 3-pointers and led Bluffton with 18 points, while junior Lyndsey Robinson collected her sixth career double-double with 17 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

Bluffton tied the score at 19-19 with 8:06 left in the first half, but the Saints pulled away for an eight point lead at halftime, 38-30. TMC then went on a 15-3 run early in the second half to take control of the game.

Bluffton out-rebounded Thomas More 41-37 and out-shot the Saints 42.4% to 41.7%.

Sophomore Lindsay Bacon chipped in 10 points for BC.

Bluffton ends the regular season at 0-24 overall and 0-14 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. The Beavers will travel to Franklin College on Tuesday night for the first round of the HCAC tournament.

Thomas More (17-5) was led by Holly Roberts with 27 points.
