Bluffton College dominated Defiance College on the boards Wednesday night but the host Yellow Jackets took an 84-50 win over the Beavers.

Junior Lindsay Bacon came off the bench to score a team-high 10 points, including two 3-pointers, and add five rebounds and three assists.

A basket by senior Kristen Siller gave Bluffton an 8-7 lead with 13:55 remaining in the first half, but Defiance soon regained the lead and later went on a 16-0 run to go up by 18 with just over a minute left in the first half. DC led 42-26 at the intermission and an 18-2 Jacket run to start the second half proved to be too much to overcome.

Bluffton falls to 1-15 overall and 0-7 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, while Defiance improves to 6-11 overall and 4-3 in the HCAC.

Senior Heather Demery tied two career-highs with nine points and six rebounds, while senior Melissa James scored eight points and grabbed a game-high eight rebounds. Sophomore Cara Young chipped in seven points.
