Thomas More hands Bluffton a 76-47 loss in regular season finale

Melissa James led Bluffton College with 10 points and Lyndsey Robinson grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds, but it wasn't enough as the Beavers fell 76-47 at Thomas More College Saturday afternoon in the final game of the regular season.

Bluffton will enter the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament Tuesday night at Mount St. Joseph at 7 p.m.

Bluffton sees their regular season come to an end with an overall record of 2-22. Thomas More improves to 14-11.

Junior Lindsay Bacon tied her career high with three 3-pointers, shooting an impressive 3-for-5 from beyond the arc. She ended the game with nine points and three boards.

Bluffton out-rebounded Thomas More 48-46 but the Saints forced the Beavers into a season-high 39 turnovers. Thomas More attempted 34 3-pointers in the game, the most of any opponent against BC this season.

A pair of free throws from senior Kristen Siller gave Bluffton an 11-9 lead with 10:08 remaining in the first half, but the Saints then went on a 27-4 run and led 38-20 at halftime.

Robinson added eight points to go along with her game-high rebounding total, while junior Karen Harris and Siller both chipped in seven points.
