Bluffton notches second consecutive win with 75-49 route of Marygrove College

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's basketball team (3-4) defeated Marygrove College 75-49 on Dec. 4 in Founders Hall.

The win is the second in a row for Bluffton as they defeated Lake Erie 80-40 on Dec. 1. The last time that the women's basketball team won two games back-to-back was on Jan. 20 and Jan. 24, 2001 when they beat Thomas More 74-60 and Anderson 60-51.

The Beavers led the game only by ten points 36-26 at halftime and extended the lead even more in the second half. The Mustangs held the Beaver lead to around 20 points for the first part of the second period until senior LINDSEY DELSCAMP(Germantown/Madison) hit a pair of three pointers at the 8:00 mark to extend the lead to 62-36. The rest of the contest went heavily in the Beaver's favor as they would finish the game 75-49.

Leading Bluffton again on the year was freshman ASHLEIGH STALLKAMP (Paulding/Paulding) with 15 points. Sophomore TANYA RICKENBERG (Defiance/Paulding) rounded off the double figure scoring with 14 points. Freshman LINDSAY BUSH(Howard/East Knox) posted a career-high 15 rebounds to lead the team. Junior KARIN SCHALLER (Jenera/Arlington) ended the game with four blocks (team high).

Bluffton will be back in action this upcoming Thursday, Dec. 9 when they travel to Capital University. Tip off for the game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
