Hanover cruises to 70-45 win over Beavers

The Bluffton University women's basketball team (3-9, 0-1 HCAC) was defeated by Hanover College (8-5, 1-1 HCAC) 70-45 on Jan. 8.

Sophomore Tanya Rickenberg (Paulding/Paulding) was the only Beaver in double figures with 14 points. Junior Karin Schaller(Jenera/Arlington) posted seven points and four blocks. Freshman Ashleigh Stallkamp (Paulding/Paulding) led the team with nine rebounds.

The Beavers struggled as they committed 26 turnovers in the contest to the Panther's 11. Bluffton shot 35 percent (19-of-55) from the floor compared to Hanover's 38 percent (29-of-77). Hanover led the battle of the boards as they grabbed down 42 rebounds to Bluffton's 40.

Bluffton University will be back in action this Monday, Jan. 10, at home when they host HCAC opponent Manchester College. Start time for the contest is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
