Angie Lee named HCAC Player of the Week

BLUFFTON, Ohio -  Sophomore guard ANGIE LEE (Mt. Blanchard, Ohio/Vanlue) averaged 23.5 points and five rebounds per game last week to earn the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference women's basketball Player of the Week award.

Two games removed from a career-high 22 point night at Mount St. Joseph, Lee upped her all-time best to 30 points in an 83-77 loss at Defiance. She connected on 12-of-21 field goal attempts and knocked down 4-of-8 three-point attempts in the contest. Lee also hauled in six rebounds against the Yellow Jackets.

In Bluffton's 77-68 loss to Hanover on Jan. 28, Lee scored 17 points and grabbed four rebounds. Lee also chipped in with five assists and three steals. For the week, she was 19-of-36 from the field and 5-of-5 from the free throw line.

She is currently averaging 9.9 points and 2.6 rebounds per game for the Beavers. In conference play, Lee has improved her scoring average to 12.6 points per game.

Bluffton is 2-17 overall and 0-8 in Heartland Conference action. The Beavers will return to action against conference leading Franklin on Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. in Founders Hall where they will play four their six remaining regular season contests.
