BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University junior LAUREN HUTTON (New Riegel) was named the Heartland Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending January 22, 2012.

Hutton just missed out on a pair of double doubles while leading the Beavers to their third and fourth consecutive HCAC victories. She went for 19 points and nine rebounds in Bluffton's 54-50 win over then HCAC-leading Manchester. The junior post followed that with 15 points and nine boards in a 70-62 win over Rose on Saturday. She finished the week with 34 points (17 PPG) and 18 rebounds (9 RPG) to go along with three assists and a steal.

The Beavers improved to 6-11 and 4-6 in the HCAC with their fourth consecutive conference victory which tied the school mark set during the 1999-2000 campaign. Bluffton will look to make it five in a row on Wednesday night when the Beavers host Earlham College. The contest in Founders Hall is slated for 7:30 p.m.
