BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University junior Morgan Smith (Arlington) has been named the HCAC Player of the Week after averaging a double-double in a pair of Heartland Conference victories last week. It marks the second time this season that Smith has been accorded that honor.

Smith powered the Beavers to the No. 2 seed in the Heartland Conference tournament, bucketing 19.0 PPG and pulling down 11.5 RPG while shooting a blistering 16-of-23 (69.6 percent) from the field. She hit 6-of-8 at the line and blocked four shots as Bluffton routed Manchester and Defiance in conference action.

Bluffton knocked Franklin College out of the HCAC Tournament on Sunday and the Beavers are now slated to play No. 6 seed Anderson in Lexington, Ky., on Friday night at 7 p.m. The winner of that semifinal will lock horns with either Rose-Hulman or #2 ranked Transylvania on Saturday, Feb. 26.
