Haley Gill sets school record at Beaver Classic

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's golf team turned it on over their final nine holes on Sunday, moving back up into 3rd place at the Beaver Fall Classic. The Beavers shot a 355 (tied for 4th best all-time), giving Bluffton a 713 for the tournament which is tied for 2nd all-time for 36 holes.

Haley Gill (Indianapolis, IN/Franklin Central) got it done down the stretch, firing a school-record 80 on Sunday, which added up to a 4th place finish individually. Gill's 169 for the weekend also equaled her own record for 36 holes!

Freshman Allie Waggener (Hilliard/Hilliard Bradley) and Marissa Hall (Avon Lake) were 11th and 14th, respectively, as they shot 179 and 181 at the Bluffton Golf Club. Freshman Kiley Cline (Fostoria/Hopewell Loudon) rounded out the scorers for the Bluffton "A" squad with a 185. Senior Keely Briggs (Franklin) shot 99-95 at her final Beaver Fall Classic. Freshman Isabelle Vance (Continental/Miller City) led the "B" squad with a 190 at her first Beaver Classic.

Bluffton will head to Allegheny College on Sunday, Sept. 26, for the Allegheny College Invite at Meadville Country Club. The two-day tournament is slated for Sunday and Monday.
