Beavers break school record with 326

SELLERSBURG, Ind. - The Bluffton University women's golf team traveled to southern Indiana for a preview of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championship course. With temperatures much more favorable than they were a week ago, Bluffton fired off another school record with a 326 on Friday, Sept. 8, 2023! The women stand fifth after 18 holes and they are just five strokes away from third place.

Allie Waggener (Hilliard/Hilliard Bradley) continued her torrid start to the season with a team-low 78 just three days after being named the HCAC Athlete of the Week. Fellow junior Kiley Cline (Fostoria/Hopewell Louden) and Jordan Hemmelgarn (Coldwater) were both nipping at Waggener's heels with identical rounds of 80.

Sophomore Sara Kroeger (Cincinnati/Mount Notre Dame) followed with an 88, while senior Shelby Stammen (Fort Recovery) carded a 94. Freshmen Gabby Green (Beavercreek/Carroll) and Alyssa Begoon (New Madison/Tri-Village) got their feet wet with scores of 98 and 102, respectively.

Bluffton will be back at 'the other' Hidden Creek Golf Club on Saturday, Sept. 9, for round two of the HCAC Preview.
